He married  Maria Elizabeth SCHILLING December 27, 1841 at Old Klemzig Lutheran Church, South Australia.  Derek Wayne Bauer is his the 3rd great grand-son and he is married to Catherine Veronica BATES their stories - Grandma! Where did I come from? Book 5  -  All those listed below are descended from the SCHILING and BAUER line. From Prussia to South Australia and beyond.

Text Box: The following 3 brothers are cousins to my grand-children Joshua Wayne BAUER and Amy Louise BAUER.  Joshua and Amy are descended from the 1st born child of Johann Gottfried SCHILLING who married Anna Rosina nee LANGE.  Her name was Marie SCHILLING 1822-1851 m Carl BAUER 1808-1884 and the PENNA brothers are descended from the 3rd  born child Gottfried SCHILLLING 1834-1915 m Louise KLEMM 1834-1905. Johann Gottfried SCHILLING who married Anna Rosina nee LANGE had 10 children in all and arrived in South Australia 21 November 1838 on Ship Prince George. Carl Leonhard Friedrich BAUER arrived on the Ship "Solway"  which left Hamburg 09 Jun 1837 arrived at Kingscote (Kangaroo Island)  16 Oct 1837.  Descendants of all these families are in the book  J. GOTTFRIED SCHILLING Persecution, Peace, Pioneering, 1838-1988.
